It has been confirmed that the United States has become the first country with 1 million COVID-19 cases, a milestone representing the beginning of a long battle comprising several months required to end the pandemic.

The confirmed cases of COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 3,110,696 out of which one third has been reported in the United States, marking the country with 1 million COVID-19 cases, out of which 57,862 people have died after being infected by this deadly contagious infection, which is a quarter of the people died across the world as more than 200 countries and territories are currently housing multiple infected patients.

COVID-19 in the United States

The United States has now been registered as one of the most suffering countries due to the coronavirus outbreak along with Spain, France, Italy, United Kingdom, and Germany, and has now become the first country with 1 million COVID-19 cases.

This high number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the United States is also because of the huge number of population inhabited inside the country. As the top coronavirus suffering European countries have reduced the pace of new COVID-19 patients in their region along with the reduction of further transmission of the infection,. United States was not able to similarly reduce the number of new COVID-19 cases in the region and has now become the first country with 1 million COVID-19 cases.

In the last week, new coronavirus cases have been reported in between 24,000 to 41,000 in the United States, along with 1,200 to 1,500 deaths daily, resulting in becoming the country with 1 million COVID-19 cases. The COVID-19 graph of the  United States has been able to reach a plateau, but no decline has been observed regarding new coronavirus cases even though there have been strict implications of lockdown and the closure of all businesses with the exception of shops containing necessary household items, medical supplies, and hospitals.

The spread of COVID-19 in the United States

As the United States has become the first country with 1 million COVID-19 cases in the region, the virus has now been observed to move towards rural areas, which was previously concentrated in urban areas as there have been dramatic increases in the new confirmed coronavirus cases being reported in the areas in the last few days.

The virus is following the typical pattern of spread in large areas, by initially being inside large urban core regions and later slightly moving towards rural regions by making connections between urban, suburban and rural areas due to which American has become the country with 1 million COVID-19 cases and the count is increasing every day.

As the coronavirus, if following the typical and known pattern of spreading, the government of the United States has braced themselves for the new lagged waves of infected patients in the less developed areas of the country by providing essential medical equipment and personnel to provide the treatment.

Even after 4 months of having the infectious pathogen inside the country, the United States still lags in the testing capacity for the coronavirus. To counter this lack of testing, the production of the required material has been increased along with testing of blood for COVID-19 has been increased up to 225,000 tests per day to help isolate as much coronavirus patients as possible before they further transmit the infection, causing the number of infected tolls to increase.

The most affected area in the United States due to the coronavirus outbreak in New York, in which the capacity of COVID-19 testing should be increased up to 100,000 every day to prevent any increase in fatalities.

To check those individuals having the risk of getting the infection, a testing program should be launched by the government, making armies of people to contact tracing, helping to reduce and isolate the increasing number of new coronavirus cases as the United States has become the first country with 1 million COVID-19 cases and no treatment has been discovered yet that could prevent and treat the patients.
