Capitol Riots Will Be Investigated By An Independent Commission

Trump Has Become the First President in US History to Be Impeached Twice

The House Speaker of the United States, Nancy Pelosi, has given a statement in which she has clarified that Congress will be establishing a completely independent commission for a thorough investigation regarding the capitol riots that occurred on January 6 in the city of Washington DC by the supporters of the ex-president of the United States Donald Trump.

Upgrading of security details

In a letter written to the lawmakers of the country, House Speaker Pelosi said that the independent commission for the analysis of the capitol riots would be based on the model that was established during the inquiry of the attack on the Pentagon and World Trade Centre in New York on September 11, 2001. She wrote that we all must find the truth behind the capitol riots, which ended in the death of five individuals and numerous injured.

The former president of the United States, Donald Trump, has recently been acquitted by Congress for inciting violent actions resulting in capitol riots caused by his false statements to the public.

Several of the Republicans and Democrats have given their votes for an independent commission by an outside party to investigate the capitol riots, which have caused chaos across the region. In the light of the attack on the Congress and following capitol riots, the retired United States Army Lieutenant General Russel Honore had been assessing the security details of the Capitol for the past few weeks.

House Speaker Pelosi also said that the commission would be responsible for the investigation and then give a finalized report regarding the causes and facts for the attack on the Congress and capitol riots, along with the interference during a peaceful transfer of the Office and power and the immediate active response and preparedness of both the local police department of the Capitol and other law enforcement branches located across the city during the time of Capitol riots.

She stated that based on the initial findings by General Russel Honore, the parliament is required to allocate further funding that would be used to provide safety and security for the members of the Capitol. A group of House Republicans has written a letter to Mrs. Pelosi on February 15, in which they have complained that their party was not consulted regarding the security reviews by General Honore.

In the same letter, they have also demanded to be given information regarding the details Senator Pelosi knew along with the instructions that she has given to secure the Capitol of the United States ahead of the Capitol riots of January 6.

Accusations against Trump caused a family feud

Adam Kinzinger, the House Republican who called for the removal of Donald Trump after the Capitol riots, was condemned by his own family comprising of eleven members through a handwritten letter in which it is stated that he was in cooperated with ‘the devil’s army’. They have written to the representative of Illinois that he is a disappointment to both them and God, as he was among the 10 individuals of the Republic who votes for the impeachment of the former president of the United States, Donald Trump, in the past month of January soon after the Capitol riots.

The letter includes that Mr. Kinzinger has made rude and horrible accusations against Trump and the rest of the family is embarrassed to be in a relationship with them as he has tarnished the family name of Kinzinger.

45th United States President Donald Trump conviction votes

Ex-President Donald Trump has been able to survive his second trial for charges of impeachment against him on Saturday after the Democrat persecutors were unable to secure at least two-thirds of the majority votes that are required for his conviction after the Capitol riots. Trump has become the only president in the history of the United States to have faced the impeachment trial against him two times.

The votes for the impeachment were split along the party lines, with 7 Republicans who joined along with the 48 Democrats from the Senate and 2 independent for conviction of Donald Trump. Senator Mitch McConnell, the senior Republican in the US Congress, has earlier votes against Trump’s conviction on the grounds of the constitution, but later on, he declared Donald Trump for being completely responsible for the Capitol riots and assault on the Congress.
