Like every year, Samsung is going to launch another one of their flagship category phones in early 2020 in their galaxy S series lineup with the latest features on deck. There have been a lot of rumors surrounding this device regarding its name as either it would be named S11 or S20. Earlier in January, Samsung has officially given the statement about its name and what to expect regarding some of its key features.
Samsung Galaxy S20 Event Announcement
Samsung has given a press release in which they have stated that the official date for the Samsung Galaxy S20 event to launch in the international market is February 2020, with the event being held in San Francisco and live-streamed on social media accounts to be viewed across the world, the main theme event focusing on the “new and innovative” technology by Samsung.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 event was not just a launch event for a single device, but also covered some new products including three different variations of the Samsung Galaxy S20, a foldable Samsung Galaxy Z Flip and Samsung GalaxyBuds + (powered by AKG sound).
Specifications of Samsung Galaxy S20
This year’s flagships have raised the bar very high with high-quality chipsets and amazing battery life and to counter it, Samsung has packed a luxurious design and some very amazing features along with a hefty price tag. There are three different variations of this phone as S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra and all are pretty powerful to use in our daily lives, including heavy gaming and much better battery life than its predecessors.
Some of the specifications introduced at the Samsung Galaxy S20 event include multiple pastel color variations; larger than 6 inches Dynamic Amoled 2x, 1440p resolution display; the best Qualcomm chipset Snapdragon 865 processor, Android 10 over Samsung’s One UI 2, 12GB RAM and 128 GB ROM (Expandable to 1TB), 10 Megapixel front-facing camera, quad-camera setup with optical image stabilization (telephoto camera, ultrawide camera, wide-angle and depth vision camera) for rear cameras along with 108 megapixel Quad Bayer sensor main camera in S20 Ultra, 4K and 8K video recording at 24 frames per second, dual SIM hybrid slot, 5G support, Bluetooth 5.0, a typical 4000 mAh battery (5000 mAh in S20 Ultra), 25-watt fast charging with type C port, improved wireless charging, an ultrasonic optical fingerprint sensor and Bixby support but no 3.5mm headphone jack.
These S20 models do not have a great curvy edge which was a great design point, giving the illusion of a much slimmer body, but also has its disadvantages which lead to consumer problems as the fingers tend to get on the curved edge even when not being intentionally used. This year’s flagship has the edge which will prevent it from getting accidentally brushed, but still provide a better look, usage and easy to hold.
After the Samsung Galaxy S20 event, this phone is now available to pre-order throughout the world along with the Samsung galaxy Z Fold and GalaxyBuds + (sold separately) with the starting price for these devices being $999.
